Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Exam Coach AI ("we", "us") provides an online study service that turns your notes and past papers into revision plans, flashcards, quizzes and marked feedback. These terms form a contract between you and us. By creating an account or paying for a subscription you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has permission to enter into this contract and to pay for any subscription on your behalf. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account.

3. Subscriptions, trials and billing

• Subscriptions are sold on a weekly, monthly or annual basis. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown to you on the checkout screen before you pay.
• Where a free trial is offered, your payment method is stored but not charged until the trial ends. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts automatically and your card is charged the price shown.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. We will tell you in advance if a price changes.
• All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include UK VAT at the applicable rate. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your account. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to cancel a digital service and receive a refund. By starting to use the service immediately you agree that delivery begins straight away, and you accept that your right to cancel is lost once the service has been fully supplied within that period. Where the service has only partly been supplied, we will refund a proportionate amount. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. 5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• share your account with others or resell access to the service;
• upload material you do not have the right to use, or content that is unlawful, abusive or infringing;
• use the service to cheat in a live examination or assessment, or in any way that breaches your school's, college's or university's academic integrity rules;
• attempt to scrape, reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the service.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the notes, papers, images and other material you upload. You grant us a licence to store and process that material solely to provide the service to you — including sending it to our AI processing providers to generate study material and feedback. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train third-party foundation models.

7. AI output, grades and accuracy

Grades, marks and feedback produced by the service are estimates generated by AI, compared against published grade boundaries where these are available. They are a study aid, not an official result, and they will sometimes be wrong. We do not guarantee any particular grade or exam outcome, and you should not rely on our output as a substitute for your teacher, your exam board's mark scheme or professional advice.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes that reduce what you have paid for.

9. Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for exam results, loss of opportunity, or indirect or consequential loss.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
